In June of 1997, Kelly Craig, made the decision to be a full-time "stay-at-home" mom. Her desire to stay at home combined with her love for pets, inspired a pet sitting service known as "The Pet Valet". It didn't take long for "The Pet Valet" to grow and become Kingwood's most referred professional pet sitting service by local vets, groomers, kennels and many clients.
Kelly Craig retired February of 2011 and Phyllis Tatum took over as the new owner. Phyllis Tatum has resided with her husband and son in Kingwood for over 18 years. Phyllis graduated from the University of Houston with a BBA in Marketing. She gave up a professional career as a Personal Lines Underwriter to stay home with her son after he was born. She was introduced to the world of pet sitting when she hired "The Pet Valet" for the first time. Being an animal lover, she fell in love with the idea of being a pet sitter. Pet sitting provided a flexible schedule which enabled her to work and to stay at home with her son. She was a pet sitter for 5 years prior to taking over the business in 2011.

What are the advantages of in home pet care?
*Your pet enjoys the same familiar surroundings and daily routine even though you are away.
*Your pets are not exposed to other animal sickness or disease. There is no inconvenience in having to transport pets to a boarding facility. When you arrive home, your pets will be there to welcome you home!
*Having a professional pet sitter enter and exit your home on a dialy basis provides home security against theft. Lights being turned off/on, blinds and curtains opened up will give the appearance someone is home. We also pick up mail and papers daily.
*On longer trips, The Pet Valet will also walk through the home and check for water leaks, storm damages and ac/heat failures.
*plants may be watered upon request.
